Former Barcelona forward Hristo Stoichkov believes that the Catalan outfit need to sign "two or three players" at the end of the season.
The Bulgarian has also defended under-fire manager Gerardo Martino, who has been criticised for altering the club's style of play this season.
"It's very easy to lay the blame at his door," he told Marca.
"He doesn't hide from it. I don't think he's overwhelmed. These bad results can be fixed in the dressing room. That's where the team can get a lift.
"We need two or three players to reinforce this side and we shouldn't force the players from Barca B to go to other clubs to find glory."
Barcelona will lose long-serving duo Victor Valdes and Carlos Puyol at the end of the season.
