Barcelona announced this evening that four-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi has signed an improved contract with the club.
The Catalan outfit confirmed last week that they had reached an agreement with the Argentine international and today he put pen to paper on the new contract.

Barca said on their website this afternoon that Messi "repeatedly expressed his excitement about the new deal" when he signed on at the Camp Nou.
The club have not disclosed details on the length or value of the contract, but it is believed that Messi has signed a five-year extension that will see him earn a record €20m (£16.3m) per season.
