Lionel Messi has insisted that he wants to remain with Barcelona "forever".
The Argentine superstar, 32, has two years left on his contract, but the deal reportedly contains a clause that would allow him to leave for free at the end of this season, should he choose to.
Messi has eased the fears of those at the club who were worried their star man could depart, however, suggesting he would be open to being offered a new contract there.
"If [Barcelona] want me, I am delighted," Messi said to RAC-1.
"My idea is to stay here forever. It has always been like this and remains the same way; nothing has changed."
The forward has struggled with injury at the start of this campaign, playing just 300 minutes over five appearances across all competitions, recording a goal and two assists in the process.
