New Paris Saint-Germain full-back Dani Alves has denied trying to convince compatriot and former Barcelona teammate Neymar to join the club this summer.
The Brazilian duo were good friends during their time together at Camp Nou, and since Alves's summer switch to PSG reports have gathered pace that Neymar could follow him to the Parc des Princes in a world-record £196m move.
However, Alves has vehemently denied those rumours, insisting that he has only spoken to the 25-year-old about matters on the field.
Replying to a report which claimed he had discussed the transfer with Neymar, Alves wrote on Twitter: "Lies! I don't have to convince him about anything. When I talk to Ney, the last thing we talk about is football."
Neymar today cancelled a sponsorship event in China in order to deal with his proposed transfer to Paris.
