Barcelona are reportedly exploring the possibility of offloading out-of-favour midfielder Miralem Pjanic to a Russian club.
The Bosnia international arrived at Camp Nou as part of a swap deal with Juventus involving Arthur Melo, but the move has not worked out well for either party.
After starting just six La Liga games for the Blaugrana in the 2020-21 season and not registering a single goal contribution, Pjanic has been expected to leave after just one season in Catalonia.
A return to Juventus was mooted before the transfer window in Italy shut, and Marca reports that Barca are still seeking to ship Pjanic out to a league where comings and goings can still take place.
The report adds that Russia is the favoured destination, and Pjanic has accepted that he will spend a year on the sidelines if he is unable to secure an exit from Camp Nou soon.
The 31-year-old has not played a single minute in La Liga so far this term and remains under contract at Barcelona until 2024.
