Aymen Abdennour wants Barcelona move

Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour reveals that he is desperate to make the move to Barcelona ahead of all other interested parties.

Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour has admitted that he is desperate to make the move to Barcelona.

The 25-year-old's performances during the 2014-15 season are believed to have attracted the attention of the Catalan outfit, in addition to a number of European clubs.

However, the central defender has revealed that he only wants to join "the best team in the world".

"I'm ready to play for Barca," he told Sport. "I'm a very competitive player and I believe that I meet the conditions for success.

"My President [Dmitry Rybolovlev] told me I could join a big club, but if a big team don't want me then I won't leave. I'd like to play for the best team in the world, Barcelona, but it's not my decision, it's Monaco's.

"For me, waiting until January wouldn't be a problem. If the two clubs can reach an agreement, I'd be delighted to accept [Barca's offer]. The two clubs should discuss [a transfer] and find a solution that suits everyone."

Barcelona have been able to complete the signings of two new players this summer, but the Spanish giants are still technically under a transfer embargo.
