Ernesto Valverde led Barcelona's training session today despite rumours that the club are planning to sack him this afternoon.
The Spaniard's future at the club has come under intense scrutiny following their 3-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup on Thursday, when Barcelona let a lead slip having also done the same when being eliminated from the Champions League in back-to-back seasons at the hands of Roma and Liverpool respectively.
Barca made a public approach to bring former player Xavi back to Camp Nou last week, only to be turned down by their record appearance-maker at least until the end of the season.
However, Valverde's job still appears to be in jeopardy, with reports suggesting that he will be sacked today despite the club sitting top of La Liga once again.
Marca claims that a board meeting will be held over the coming hours to determine the 55-year-old's future, after he took training as normal this morning.
Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be in the running to replace Valverde, despite his close association with city rivals Espanyol.
