Lionel Messi scores twice as Barcelona defeat Brazilian club Santos to win the Club World Cup final in Japan.

Barcelona have been crowned club champions of world football following today's 0-4 win over Brazilian club Santos in Japan.

The Spanish champions were three goals up by the break courtesy of strikes from Lionel Messi, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas.

Santos found goalscoring chances easier to come by after the restart, but Victor Valdes was equal to any efforts at his goal.

Barca extended their lead further eight minutes from time when Dani Alves squared for Messi, who lifted the ball into the net for the game's final goal.
