Barcelona midfielder Pedro backs Neymar to thrive with the Spanish champions next season.

Barcelona midfielder Pedro is confident that Neymar will be a success with the Spanish champions next season.

Neymar, 21, agreed a deal to join the Catalan outfit from Santos this summer, but it has been suggested in some quarters that the Brazilian would struggle in Spain.

That is not a view shared by Pedro, however, with the Spanish winger insisting that Neymar will "adapt very quickly" to life at Camp Nou.

"He will adapt very quickly. It is true that you need an adjustment period to get to know the game in another country: how everything is, the city etc," Pedro told El Mundo Deportivo.

"But, like I said, I think he will adapt fairly quickly. He has very good friends there, such as Daniel Alves and Adriano, and that will help.

"I think he is also happy and excited about playing for Barca, so hopefully be an important player for us."

Both Pedro and Neymar are currently on Confederations Cup duty in Brazil.
