Henrik Larsson steps down from Falkenberg post

Former Celtic and Barcelona frontman Henrik Larsson resigns as the head coach of Falkenberg, amid reports linking him with IFK Gothenburg.

Henrik Larsson has resigned from his position as the head coach of Swedish side Falkenberg.

The Southern-based outfit were the favourites the be relegated from the Allsvenskan last season, but under Larsson's guidance, the club retained its status.

However, despite that positive work, the former Celtic and Barcelona striker has decided that the time is right for him to move on.

"We would have liked to see a continuation but of course we respect his decision," said sporting director Hakan Nilsson.

Recent speculation has linked 43-year-old Larsson with the managerial vacancy at IFK Gothenburg.
