David Villa suffers fractured tibia

David Villa breaks his leg during Barcelona's FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against Al-Sadd.

David Villa could be sidelined for a number of months after suffering a fracture to his left tibia during Barcelona's match against Al-Sadd in Japan.

The striker picked up the injury in the 47th minute of the Catalans FIFA Club World Cup semi-final, sparking rumours that he could be ruled out for up to six months.

Questions over the future of the 30-year-old have arised following a number of starting XI snubs from Barca boss Pep Guardiola.

Reports recently claimed that the Spain international has been seeking a move to the Premier League, but speculation was quickly dismissed by Guardiola.
