Spanish outfit Barcelona will visit Thailand for a pre-season tour.

Barcelona's vice-president Javier Faus has revealed that the club will visit Thailand for a pre-season tour next year.

The Spanish side have made the decision after a sponsorship deal was reached with the Thai Beverage company.

"Asia is a huge opportunity for us. We now have more fans in Asia than in Europe. So we'll focus on the region for the next 20 years," Faus told The Nation.

"We're delighted that Thailand has become the first Asian country to support us. I hope that with the deal our fanbase in Thailand will understand what Barcelona is."

Barca will be heading to Asia without coach Pep Guardiola, who will step down from his position at the end of the season.
