Atletico Madrid: 'Barcelona offered same number of away tickets as other clubs'

Atletico Madrid claim that Barcelona have been offered the same number of away tickets as every other La Liga club so far this season ahead of their game later this month.

Barcelona have been offered the same number of away tickets by Atletico Madrid as every other La Liga club so far this season ahead of their game later this month, the Spanish capital club have insisted.

The Blaugrana claimed on Wednesday that Atletico could not supply tickets for away fans "due to logistical problems" and, therefore, "all Barcelona supporter tickets for the above match have been cancelled".

According to Sky Sports News, however, Atletico have stated that they offered Barca around 250 tickets for their upcoming fixture at the new Wanda Metropolitano stadium on October 14.

The allowance is reportedly the same that they offered to Sevilla and Malaga for the recent fixtures at their new 68,000-capacity home, and it is the same number that they will offer to visiting teams for the foreseeable future, due to high demand for home tickets.

There are no La Liga rules on away match ticket allocations, which are left to the home club's discretion, and the away-day culture in Spain is not very prevalent, with small groups of fans generally going to rival stadiums.

Barcelona played their most recent La Liga match behind closed doors at Camp Nou following unrest in Catalonia over a referendum on independence from the rest of Spain.
