David Villa has reportedly been training for the last three weeks to try to win a spot in Spain's squad for the Euros after breaking his leg in December.

Barcelona striker David Villa is reportedly hopeful of being included in Spain's squad for this summer's European Championships.

The 30-year-old has been sidelined for the Catalans since December after breaking his leg during the Club World Cup.

It is believed that the frontman has been training for the past three weeks in a bid to return for Barca's Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao and claim a spot in Vicente del Bosque's Spain squad, according to Cadena COPE.

The provisional 30-man squad for the competition will be named on May 15.
