Barcelona 'not feeling added Champions League pressure'

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique says that the fact his side won the Champions League last season does not bring added pressure to this year's European campaign.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has insisted that his side will not feel any added pressure in their quest to win a second consecutive Champions League title.

Enrique's side beat Juventus in the final of last year's competition in June to complete a treble in Enrique's first season at the helm of his former club.

The champions are now looking to become the first club since AC Milan in 1990 to win back-to-back titles in Europe's premier competition, but the 45-year-old is adamant that that does not make the task any harder.

He told reporters: "The goal of winning a second consecutive Champions League does not bring added pressure. It is a marvellous incentive worthy of all the Barca family and the team.

"We will try to do it but it is not pressure, quite the opposite. When the ball starts to move there are no champions and no favourites but 32 teams who want to win the title."

Enrique returns to Roma, where he was head coach in the 2011-12 season, as Barca begin the defence of their crown with a trip to last season's Serie A runners-up on Wednesday night.
