Michael Ballack: 'Barcelona are beatable'

Former Germany captain Michael Ballack believes that Juventus will exploit Barcelona's "weaknesses" in Saturday's Champions League final.

Former Germany captain Michael Ballack has insisted that Barcelona are beatable ahead of the Champions League final on Saturday.

Barca will enter the showpiece event in Berlin as the firm favourites to overcome Juventus, who also enjoyed a fine season as domestic champions.

However, Ballack believes that "divas" Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar's lack of defensive qualities could prove Barca's undoing.

"Of course they have weaknesses. Most obviously in terms of their defence: remember Bayern Munich scored three goals in the semi-final second leg, so they're clearly vulnerable," he told The Guardian.

"Their biggest strength can also become a weakness. Those three forwards are all superstars. They are a little bit like divas sometimes when you see them: they don't like to defend."

Ballack, who made 98 appearances for his country during a glittering career, retired from professional football in 2012 after a second spell with Bayer Leverkusen.
