Dani Alves: 'Atletico Madrid more than Diego Costa'

Barcelona defender Dani Alves insists that Atletico Madrid have more weapons than Diego Costa.

Barcelona defender Dani Alves has insisted that Atletico Madrid have more weapons than Diego Costa.

Costa, who has emerged into one of the best forwards in European football over the last eight months, has scored 33 times in 43 games for Atletico this season.

However, Alves has called on his side to focus on all areas of the Atletico XI ahead of the Champions League quarter-final first leg between the two Spanish rivals on Tuesday evening.

"We can look towards the other matches with Atletico at another time. Now we must take a step forward," Alves told reporters at a press conference.

"It will be a difficult game but it goes beyond Diego Costa. Atletico isn't just Diego Costa, even if he's the one who gets the goals.

"At some point we have to break this balance with Atletico (after their past two meetings were drawn). Hopefully we take a giant leap into the next round."

Atletico currently top La Liga, one point ahead of Barcelona.
