Espanyol confirm Sergio Garcia injury

Espanyol confirm that Sergio Garcia suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Espanyol have confirmed that their skipper Sergio Garcia suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid.

The Spaniard was forced to exit early in the second half of the La Liga clash, but it had been thought that his withdrawal was purely precautionary.

However, medical examinations took place this morning and it has been revealed that the 31-year-old suffered a tear to his hamstring.

Garcia is almost certain to miss next weekend's clash with Deportivo La Coruna, but a return date has not yet been set by his club.
