Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez is reportedly facing a spell on the sidelines after injuring his ankle while representing Colombia on Thursday.
The 29-year-old was replaced in the latter stages of his country's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Chile, which finished 1-1.
It was later revealed that the former Porto attacker had also suffered damage to his knee and according to Football Espana, he will undergo further scans over the weekend to determine the seriousness of the injury.
Any long-term problem would leave Atletico short of forwards in their build-up to the winter break, but Luciano Vietto is said to be closing on a return to action after recovering from appendix surgery.
Atletico currently sit third in La Liga, four points off the leaders Barcelona.
