Preview: Atletico Madrid vs. Real Betis

Sports Mole previews Thursday's Copa del Rey quarter-final clash between Atletico Madrid and Real Betis.

Atletico Madrid will attempt to continue their winning record at home when they welcome Real Betis in the first leg of their quarter-final clash in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.

The capital outfit, who currently sit second in La Liga, have won all 10 of their league matches on their home turf this season and another victory against Betis would make them favourites to advance to the semi-final stage of the competition ahead of the second leg.

Betis are also enjoying a successful league campaign, however, winning four of their last five matches to occupy fourth position in the table. They advanced to this stage of the competition with victory over Las Palmas, while Atletico overcame Getafe.

Atletico have shaded the recent meetings between the two sides, winning three of the last five matches, drawing once and losing the other. However, Betis were victorious the last time they travelled to the Vicente Calderon with a 2-0 win in December 2011.

Atletico are expected to name a strong lineup for the match, but Mario Suarez is pushing for a recall at the expense of Tiago, who has a slight muscular injury. Betis, meanwhile, could name the same side that started in their win over Levante at the weekend, with Joel Campbell and Ruben Castro continuing in attack.
