Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has conceded that Chelsea 'were better than them' in Wednesday night's Champions League clash at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The La Liga giants went in at the break a goal up after Antoine Griezmann fired home a penalty in the 40th minute of the game.
Alvaro Morata, however, equalised on the hour before Michy Batshuayi scored a dramatic late winner to condemn Atletico to a 2-1 defeat.
"Chelsea were better than us, they always seemed more comfortable," Simeone is quoted by Marca as saying.
"They played a very good, complete match, they were competitive and strong and deserved their victory.
"We had chances, Saul [Niguez] could have put us ahead 2-0, but they were better tactically than us, they were better physically and played with more intensity.
"It is important to keep going, we will improve in every area and I am sure the victory will come."
Following the goalless draw with Roma in the opening Group C match, Los Colchoneros head into their third game of the competition still searching for their first victory.
