Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta says that the club could make a January move for Fernando Llorente.

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has revealed that the club is still interested in signing Fernando Llorente.

According to ESPN, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho claimed that Llorente would be on his way to the Bianconeri in the New Year.

Marotta's reply was tongue in cheek, but he suggested that Juve could be preparing a January swoop.

"[Mourinho] will have precise information, he is always well-informed," Marotta told Tuttosport.

"If [Llorente] remains on the market then he is a player that we are interested in. In January we will evaluate the whole situation."

The 57-year-old also voiced his regret at not being able to sign Robin van Persie from Arsenal.

"I have regrets about Van Persie," he added. "But it would have been a bad choice for a club like Juventus to pay almost £25m for a player who was almost out of contract."

Llorente scored 17 goals in 24 games last season.
