Athletic Bilbao president Josu Urrutia says that Javi Martinez will not leave for less than €40m.

Javi Martinez will not be allowed to leave for less than his €40m (£32m) release fee, according to Athletic Bilbao president Josu Urrutia.

With Martinez linked to several of Europe's big names already this summer, Urrutia has made it clear that his player will not be sold on the cheap, and that Athletic do not need to sell players.

"If someone wants to take Javi Martinez, they will have to pay what the release clause in his contract says," Urrutia said.

"If a club is willing to pay, but the player wants to stay, then he will stay. We are not a selling club."

Martinez is currently with the Spain squad who are in the Euro 2012 semi-finals.
