Ander Herrera, Markel Susaeta dropped by Athletic Bilbao

Athletic Bilbao leave Ander Herrera on the bench for tonight's trip to Espanyol in La Liga.

Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde has dropped Ander Herrera and Markel Susaeta to the bench for tonight's trip to Espanyol in La Liga.

Herrera has paid the price for poor form since his move to Manchester United fell through in the summer, with Oscar de Marcos recalled in central midfield.

Susaeta has also missed out in favour of Mikel Rico, while the experienced Gorka Iraizoz is preferred in goal.

Espanyol have opted for a reshuffle in attack this evening despite beating Granada last week, with Christian Stuani and Pizzi playing in support of Sergio Garcia.

Espanyol: Casilla; Colotto, Moreno, Fuentes, J Lopez; Simao, Sanchez, D Lopez, Garcia; Stuani, Pizzi

Bilbao: Iraizoz; Iraola, San Jose, Laporte, Gurpegi; Benat, Iturraspe, Rico; Aduriz, Muniain, De Marcos
