Report: Aston Villa, Newcastle United target Salvatore Sirigu

A report claims that both Aston Villa and Newcastle United want to sign Paris Saint-Germain's out-of-favour goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu in January.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are both reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to AC Milan, has lost his spot in the PSG team this season to Kevin Trapp.

The Italian international is closing in on 200 appearances for his French club having joined from Palermo in 2011, but according to France Football, both Villa and Newcastle want to bring him to the Premier League.

Sirigu signed a new contract extension with PSG earlier this season and as it stands, is contracted to the club until the summer of 2018.
