Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood is reportedly keen to bring Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to the Midlands club this summer.
Throughout last season, Stoke manager Mark Hughes reiterated that the club want the 28-year-old to sign a new deal, but the shot-stopper is rumoured to be considering his future.
Chelsea are believed to have targeted Begovic as a potential replacement for Petr Cech, but according to the The Sentinel, Villa are in the driving seat.
The report suggests that Begovic could lean towards Villa as he will be offered first-team football as opposed to playing second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea.
Sherwood reportedly does not see current Villa keepers Brad Guzan and Shay Given as long-term number ones at the club.
