Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert cautious over Darren Bent return

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert says that he will "wait and see" how long striker Darren Bent could be sidelined for with an ankle injury.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has refused to put a date on striker Darren Bent's return from injury.

The former Sunderland hitman has been out of action since suffering an ankle problem in training earlier this week.

While some reports had claimed that the 28-year-old would be fit to face Manchester United this weekend but Lambert has stated in a press conference that the club will "wait and see".

Bent missed the final three months of last season after injuring the same ankle.
