Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has stated that the competitiveness of defender Jores Okore is a real asset to his team.
The Midlands outfit are bottom of the Premier League, having taken just six points from 15 games, and are yet to win since Garde took charge last month.
The French coach has said that Denmark international Okore sets a good example to the team as they aim to get out of trouble.
"Jores Okore has the spirit of a warrior, it hasn't been easy for him since the cup final because he has had some problems with his knees and that is never easy. I discovered that he was a good competitor as soon as I came here," Garde told Villa's official website.
"I am happy for him and for the team, he has done very well. It is good that we have competition for places.
"Before you compete with the opponents it is also important to have that competition amongst yourself. It's important that every player feels they can be useful for the team."
Villa take on Arsenal on Sunday.
