Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has revealed that he intends to use Emiliano Martinez and Douglas Luiz against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.
As a result of remaining in South America until the early hours of Friday morning, the goalkeeper and midfielder were expected to be ruled out of the West Midlands derby.
Martinez played the full 90 minutes as Argentina beat Peru, while Luiz featured for the final 19 minutes of Brazil's 4-1 victory over Uruguay.
However, at his pre-match press conference, Smith has insisted that two of his key men will both play some part at the weekend.
Speaking to reporters, Smith said: "In terms of the internationals, I expect all of them to be back. We will assess if they are available to play or be involved.
"We've had players all over the world we want and expect them back. Douglas Luiz and Emiliano Martinez will be involved. They are big players for us."
Both players have started all but one of Villa's seven Premier League fixtures this season.
