Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has praised Ron Vlaar for his contribution to the team this season.
The Villa captain is currently in his second year at Villa Park after joining the club from Feyenoord in August 2012.
Lambert believes that the Dutchman has now settled in to Premier League life following a tough campaign last time out.
"Getting a year under his belt has helped him, no two ways about it. I think he's having a good season for us," the Scot told the club's official website.
"He's doing really well and he's having a good season for us. He's a nice lad - quiet - and a nice character to work with."
Villa return to Premier League action tonight when they face Southampton at St Mary's Stadium.
