Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish at centre of international tug-of-war?

Both England and the Republic of Ireland are eager to tie Jack Grealish down by handing him a senior appearance later this year, according to a report.

Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish could reportedly find himself at the centre of an international tug-of-war between England and the Republic of Ireland.

The 19-year-old has yet to make a senior international appearance for either nation, although he has represented the Green Army at three different age groups up to and including Under-21s level.

Grealish has caught the eye with a string of impressive performances for Villa this term, most notably in the FA Cup semi-final victory over Liverpool, and The Telegraph claims that Martin O'Neill will call the midfielder up to his next squad.

However, he is also eligible to represent the Three Lions after been born and raised in England, while an invitation to train with the senior Ireland side was previously turned down.

O'Neill is also said to be keen on getting Championship Player of the Year Patrick Bamford to commit to the Emerald Isle, having previously missed out on Harry Kane
