Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere says he would welcome the return of "legend" Thierry Henry to the club.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said that he would welcome the return of club "legend" Thierry Henry.

The New York Red Bulls striker has been linked with a return to the club where he played from 1999 to 2007, and Wilshere has said that he would love the chance to play with the Frenchman.

"It would be great to have Thierry back, he is a legend," Wilshere was quoted as saying in The Mirror.

"The fans love him. All the staff here, the ground staff, the medical staff, they all love him. He's a legend. I think to have him around would give the whole club a lift."

Henry returned to the Emirates last season on loan during January.
