Arsene Wenger dismisses claims that Alex Song will not be leaving Arsenal for Barcelona this summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that Alex Song will not be leaving the club this summer.

The defensive midfielder has been linked with a move to Barcelona but Wenger claims that there has been no contact with the Catalan club despite reports in Spain suggesting a bid had been made for the 24-year-old.

"There's nothing going on with Song. There's nothing in that," the Gunners manager said. "In Spain the newspapers are not really serious. We've had the experience of that.

"Song has three years on his contract. He's not in the same situation as Robin van Persie.

"We've never had any contact with anybody from Barcelona."

Song has revealed that he is happy at the Emirates Stadium.
