Southampton's Victor Wanyama: 'I want Arsenal move'

Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama expresses a desire to swap Southampton for Arsenal.

Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama has revealed that he would be open to joining Arsenal this summer.

The Gunners are thought to be keen on a defensive midfielder despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin, with Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini currently the back-up options.

"It would be nice to move to Arsenal," the 23-year-old, whose contract expires in 2017, told a Kenyan TV show.

"But at this moment such decisions can only be made by Southampton and that is where my concentration as a player is."

The North Londoners have also been linked with a move for Wanyama's teammate Morgan Schneiderlin.

Wanyama joined the Saints for a reported £12m from Celtic in 2013.
