Ronald Koeman confirms Jordy Clasie interest

Ronald Koeman admits that Jordie Clasie is among his transfer targets this summer, as a direct replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin who looks likely to depart.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that he will make an approach for Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie this summer, should Morgan Schneiderlin leave the club.

The Saints have previously been linked with the 23-year-old, who confirmed last week that he may have played his last game for the Dutch outfit.

Manchester United are said to be leading the chase for in-demand Schneiderlin, meanwhile, and if he were to depart - as is looking increasingly likely - then Koeman has a list of potential replacements at the ready.

"There is interest for a number of our players, including Schneiderlin," the Dutchman is quoted as saying by The Metro. "If he leaves, Jordy Clasie is on our list."

Clasie made 41 appearances for Feyenoord last season, as well as representing the Netherlands at the World Cup.
