Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt has revealed that Arsenal did not make an approach for striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar during the summer transfer window.
A report emerged earlier this week stating that the Dutchman had boarded a flight for London, only to miss out on a last-minute move to the Gunners.
Heldt has denied these claims, however, saying that Hunterlaar is very much part of the Bundesliga club's future plans.
"There was no approach from Arsenal or from any other club," Heldt told Kicker. "Klaas-Jan is part of Schalke's core. We can definitely see him sign a contract renewal here.
"He is a great player, an absolute modern professional. He's always hungry for success and wants to achieve his goals."
The 31-year-old moved from AC Milan to Schalke in 2010.
