Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will reportedly ask the club's board not to sell forward Theo Walcott in January.
According to the Daily Mail, the Frenchman wants the 23-year-old to remain in his squad for the rest of the season in spite of the club hierarchy's wish to sell him next month.
Walcott's current deal with the Gunners will run out next summer and he will then become a free agent.
Arsenal's board wants to sell the England international next month to bring in money, but Wenger wants to keep the former Southampton winger until next summer.
Walcott has refused to sign a reported five-year contract that Arsenal have offered him which would see him earn £75,000 every week.
