Report: Liverpool meet Loic Remy clause

A report claims that Liverpool have agreed to pay £8.5m for Queens Park Rangers forward Loic Remy.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed to pay £8.5m for Queens Park Rangers forward Loic Remy.

The Frenchman, who spent last season on loan with Newcastle United, is widely expected to depart Loftus Road this summer as he seeks a club in the Champions League.

Arsenal had been the favourites to sign the pacey striker, but according to Sky Sports News, Liverpool have now had a bid accepted by QPR after meeting the buyout clause for the 27-year-old.

Remy scored 14 league goals for Newcastle last season and was part of the France squad for this summer's World Cup.

Should Remy arrive at Anfield, he would become Liverpool's fifth signing of the summer.
