Ray Parlour: 'Arsenal must sell Robin van Persie'

Arsenal must sell Robin van Persie, according to former Gunner Ray Parlour.

The ex-midfielder told talkSPORT that it is vital Arsene Wenger receive a premium free for the striker, rather than let him leave for free when his contract expires.

"What Arsenal have got to do now is try and get the best bidder. £25m or £30m, get as much money as you can and then reinvest the money in the squad," he said.

"The most important thing for Arsenal fans is to reinvest that money in the club. Not just put it in the bank like they did with Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

"Let's go out and make a key signing like Papiss Cisse from Newcastle and suddenly people will forget about Robin van Persie."

Van Persie, who scored 37 goals for Arsenal last season, failed to agree a new contract due to a difference of opinion with the management over the club's future.
