Report: Joel Campbell on verge of Arsenal exit as Palermo close in

Palermo will reportedly sign Arsenal striker Joel Campbell on a season-long loan.

Joel Campbell will reportedly leave Arsenal on another season-long loan as Palermo close in on his signature.

The Costa Rica international was linked with a permanent switch to David Moyes's Real Sociedad until the La Liga side opted out of the deal at the last minute.

However, the 23-year-old has not had to wait long to discover the identity of his next club, with the Daily Star claiming that a move to Serie A is nearly done.

Arsenal would prefer to sell the striker, but Palermo are unable to pay the £7m asking price.

Campbell signed for the North London club in 2011 but has made only 10 appearances.
