Martin O'Neill: 'No Nicklas Bendtner discussions yet'

Martin O'Neill says there will be no discussions regarding Nicklas Bendtner's future until the end of the season.

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill has said that there are no discussions regarding a permanent move for Nicklas Bendtner yet.

The Danish striker, who is on loan from Arsenal, has been in good form, scoring four goals in last five games.

However, despite the striker's performances, O'Neill refused to be drawn into the speculation regarding the future of Bendtner. The Northern Irishman has said that he prefers to wait until the end of the season before making a decision.

"Nicklas has done very well for us recently and I'm very happy about that,' the former Celtic boss told The Sunderland Echo.

"Hopefully he can keep it going and that will be [to] the benefit of everyone - himself and us. But we've not contacted Arsenal or Nicklas himself.

"We've not entered into any discussions at all - with any of the loan players. Let's just see what the end of the season brings.

"There's no point in trying to enter into talks anyway - you wouldn't be in any sort of position to do so."

Bendtner featured in the 0-0 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday's early kick-off.
