Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is left angered at the powers-that-be over their slow transfer activity, according to a report.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is said to be growing frustrated at Gunners chiefs' indecisiveness in the transfer market.

The Gunners are yet to announce any new arrivals or impending deals for the summer window and have already waved goodbye to Alexandre Lacazette on a free transfer, with the French striker rejoining Lyon.

Mohamed Elneny has signed a new one-year contract, and talks are ongoing over fresh terms for Eddie Nketiah, who is also due to leave as a free agent as things stand.

Arsenal are expected to announce the signings of goalkeeper Matt Turner and 19-year-old Brazilian attacker Marquinhos from Sao Paulo soon, but the teenager will likely spend time with the Under-23s next term.

Arteta, Edu and co have been expected to oversee a significant summer of change at the Emirates, with the Gunners falling short in their bid to return to the Champions League last season.

Tensions have supposedly arisen upstairs, though, as the Daily Mail claims that Arteta has been left "angry" with a lack of early activity and is fearful that some of the club's top targets could slip through their grasp.

The report adds that Arsenal want all incomings and outgoings to be approved by the club's owners KSE, and Arteta is worried that such a rule will hinder their chances of a successful window.

Following Lacazette's departure after a five-year spell, Arsenal have been tipped to bolster their attacking ranks with the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

However, Arsenal are supposedly yet to discuss personal terms or meet Man City's £50m asking price, and clubs able to offer Champions League football have now joined the race.

Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and Chelsea are all said to be keeping tabs on Jesus's future, although the Premier League champions are still hopeful of agreeing terms over a new deal for the Brazilian.

Sassuolo's Gianluca Scamacca has been mentioned as an alternative, but Gunners chiefs reportedly harbour doubts over a move for the Italy international.

Despite Elneny's contract renewal, Arsenal should be in the market for midfield additions and are still thought to be confident about their chances of wrapping up a deal for Leicester City's Youri Tielemans.

Defensive additions have also been mooted amid Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney's injury woes, but Arsenal are seemingly set to lose out on the signature of Djed Spence to Tottenham Hotspur.

Arteta will at least be boosted by the return of William Saliba, with the 21-year-old recently confirming that he wants to prove himself in pre-season after going three years without making a single first-team appearance for the club.

Arsenal are also understood to be confident about agreeing a new contract with Bukayo Saka, who only has two years to run on his existing deal and has caught the eye of Manchester City and Liverpool.
