Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil 'refusing to leave club'

Mesut Ozil turned down a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain last month as he wants to stay at Arsenal for the remaining two years of his contract, according to a report.

Mesut Ozil has no intention of being forced out of Arsenal and is ready to see out the rest of his contract, according to a report.

The German playmaker is locked in a standoff with manager Unai Emery, having featured just twice for the Gunners this calendar year.

Emery once again left Ozil out of his squad entirely for Thursday's trip to BATE in the Europa League, despite being fit for inclusion, amid concerns over the player's workrate against certain opponents.

Arsenal are believed to want rid of the 30-year-old and his £350,000-a-week wages to free up space for signings in the summer, but The Sun claims that Ozil will not back down.

Paris Saint-Germain contacted the North London outfit in January regarding a loan deal for the ex-Real Madrid ace, but he has supposedly made it clear that he will not be leaving as he is happy in the English capital.

Ozil may now see out the remaining two years of his Emirates Stadium contract, which he only signed 13 months ago when Arsene Wenger was in charge.

In a cryptic social media post on Friday evening, Ozil indicated that he is prepared to fight for a place in Arsenal's starting lineup.
