Report: Manchester City worried Alexis Sanchez likelier to join Paris Saint-Germain

Manchester City are reportedly afraid of being outmuscled by Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

Manchester City have reportedly expressed fear of being beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in their pursuit of Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international is contracted to Arsenal until the end of the season, after which it is heavily rumoured that he will look to move clubs.

Sanchez was close to joining the Citizens on deadline day in a £60m transfer, only for Arsenal to pull the plug late on after missing out on replacement attacker Thomas Lemar of Monaco.

The highly-rated forward will be free to speak to European clubs in January, while Man City must wait until the end of the season.

According to The Sun, the opportunity for PSG to speak to Sanchez first, alongside their financial clout, has left Man City feeling nervous about their hopes of signing the 28-year-old.

The Ligue 1 giants currently boast an attacking trio of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, but the latter is believed to have been earmarked for the exit door following a row with Neymar.
