A report claims that David Luiz faces a big reduction on his £120,000-a-week deal at Arsenal if he agrees to stay on for another season.

Arsenal defender David Luiz has reportedly been informed that he must take a pay cut if he is to be handed a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

The 33-year-old is out of contract in the summer and may have played his last game for the Gunners, having been sidelined for more than a month with a knee injury.

Luiz currently earns around £120,000 a week, but The Sun claims that the Brazilian's wages will be substantially lowered if he stays on for another season.

Either way, the report indicates that no decision on the veteran defender's future will be made until Arsenal know whether they will be competing in Europe in 2021-22.

Former Chelsea centre-back Luiz has made 29 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions this season.
