Arsenal are reportedly weighing up an approach for highly-rated Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
Mikel Arteta is understood to be in the market for midfield reinforcements this summer, with Dani Ceballos returning to Real Madrid and Granit Xhaka allegedly on the verge of joining Roma.
Brighton & Hove Albion's Yves Bissouma continues to be linked with a switch to the Emirates, but according to Sky Italia, Locatelli has also emerged as a potential target.
The 23-year-old has shone for Sassuolo since making the move from AC Milan on a permanent deal in 2019, and he ended the 2020-21 campaign with four goals and three assists in 34 Serie A appearances.
However, the Gunners' lack of European football could hinder their chances of signing Locatelli, who is also believed to be on the radar of Manchester City and Juventus.
The Italy international was selected for Roberto Mancini's Euro 2020 squad and played 74 minutes of their opening-day victory over Turkey on Friday night.
