Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur prepare to go head-to-head for the signature of Leicester City attacker James Maddison, according to a report.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to go head-to-head for the signature of Leicester City attacker James Maddison during this summer's transfer window.

The 25-year-old has again been an important player for the Foxes during the 2021-22 campaign, making 42 appearances in all competitions, contributing 13 goals and eight assists in the process.

Maddison still has more than two years left to run on his contract at the King Power Stadium, but there have been claims that he could be sold in the upcoming market.

Arsenal continue to be linked with the Englishman, but according to The Sun, there is also genuine interest from Tottenham, who could battle their North London rivals for his signature.

The report claims that Spurs boss Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of Maddison and will push for his club to sign the Englishman during this summer's transfer window.

The playmaker, who faces an uphill battle to make Gareth Southgate's squad for the 2022 World Cup, has scored 40 goals and registered 28 assists in 160 appearances for the Foxes since arriving from Norwich City in July 2018.
