Arsenal reportedly turn down an approach for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from an unnamed Premier League club.

Arsenal have reportedly rejected an approach for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from an unnamed Premier League club.

Despite signing a contract extension earlier this year, Ramsdale's future in North London has been called into question after falling out of favour this season.

The 25-year-old featured in all 38 Premier League games of Arsenal's title bid last season but has had to settle for just five top-flight appearances this term.

Ramsdale has lost his place to Brentford loanee David Raya, who has established himself as Mikel Arteta's number one following his summer arrival.

Although Ramsdale made his first Premier League appearance since September in Saturday's win over Brentford, he was only afforded the opportunity due to Raya being ineligible to face his parent club.

With Raya still regarded as Arteta's first-choice goalkeeper, questions are being asked as to whether Ramsdale could seek a move away in the January transfer window.

Ramsdale has previously conceded that a lack of regular playing time could affect his chances of making Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024.

According to football.london an unnamed bottom-half Premier League side have already made an approach for the Arsenal shot-stopper.

The Gunners subsequently turned down the approach, as they remain determined to keep hold of the England international.

A recent report claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers were showing an interest in signing Ramsdale on a loan deal with an option to buy.

There have also been rumours linking the former Sheffield United man with Arsenal's London rivals Chelsea and German champions Bayern Munich.

While his future at the club continues to be the subject of speculation, there is a belief that Ramsdale will only consider a departure if a potential move away would help his career trajectory.

The Englishman's current Arsenal contract runs until the summer of 2026 with an option to extend by a further year.

With Raya set to return to the lineup, Ramsdale is expected to drop down to the bench for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Lens.
