Arsenal and Manchester City could reportedly go head-to-head for the signature of Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
The Spaniard's current deal at Camp Nou is due to expire at the end of June, and there have been claims that Barcelona are prepared to let him leave on a free transfer.
Roberto has scored twice and registered one assist in 12 appearances for Xavi's side this season, although he has been on the sidelines since the end of October through injury.
Man City boss Pep Guardiola is believed to be a long-term admirer of the versatile operator, who has featured as a right-back and central midfielder over the last few years.
According to Fichajes, the Premier League champions are considering the possibility of signing him this summer, but the Citizens will face competition from Arsenal.
The 30-year-old has made 316 appearances for Barcelona since debuting in 2010, winning six La Liga titles and two Champions League crowns during his time in the first team.
