Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen on a move for 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund attacker Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, whose contract expires in 2025.

Borussia Dortmund protege Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has allegedly emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal.

The 19-year-old - who is comfortable as a left or right-winger - was on the books at the Reading and Manchester City academies before leaving the latter for Dortmund in 2020.

Bynoe-Gittens's earliest days at Dortmund were hampered by a serious ankle injury, but he soon began to make waves at youth level, scoring six goals in five UEFA Youth League matches during the 2021-22 season.

The Englishman made his first-team debut for BVB that same year and continued his development under Edin Terzic last season, scoring three goals and setting up one more in 15 Bundesliga matches.

Once again, Bynoe-Gittens's game time was restricted due to injury, as the teenager spent two separate spells in the treatment room with a shoulder injury, and he has played just nine minutes for Dortmund so far this season.

Prior to his breakthrough season with Dortmund, Bynoe-Gittens was a part of England's European Championship-winning Under-19 squad last year, and he made his debut for the Under-21s against Luxembourg on September 11, registering an assist for Cole Palmer.

The London-born attacker only extended his Dortmund contract last August, but those terms are due to expire in the summer of 2025, and Fichajes claims that he has piqued Arsenal's interest.

The report adds that Mikel Arteta has personally identified Bynoe-Gittens as a player who could enjoy a bright future in North London, and he has been dubbed 'the next Jude Bellingham'.

Despite his lack of minutes for Dortmund this season, the German club will not let Bynoe-Gittens go without a fight, as the club still have high hopes for him in the Bundesliga.

However, a bid of €30m (£25.9m) could potentially twist Dortmund's arm, as Arteta seeks youthful talent to act as cover and competition for Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka out wide.

The two 22-year-olds are the Gunners' undisputed first-choice wingers, leaving the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Leandro Trossard to battle it out for minutes as substitutes.

Arsenal will also welcome Marquinhos back from his loan spell at Nantes next summer, but the Gunners terminated the contract of former record signing Nicolas Pepe, who is now plying his trade with Trabzonspor.

Trossard came off the bench to score the only goal in Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Everton on Sunday afternoon, which saw the Gunners break a miserable five-game winless run at Goodison Park.

The Belgian was introduced in the first half for Martinelli, who suffered a hamstring injury while running through to score a goal which was controversially disallowed for offside.

The severity of Martinelli's problem remains unclear, but the Brazilian is doubtful for Wednesday's Champions League opener against PSV Eindhoven and Sunday's North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
